Watkins came off the bench to score the winner for England against the Netherlands.
Roy Keane left fans in stitches with his reaction to Ollie Watkins’ dramatic winner for England against the Netherlands.
England booked their place in the final of Euro 2024 with a narrow 2-1 victory over the Dutch in Dortmund on Wednesday night.
It had looked like it could be a disappointing night for Gareth Southgate’s side when Xavi Simons fired the Netherlands in front with a spectacular goal early on.
But those early nerves were settled when Harry Kane equalised from the penalty spot after a controversial decision to award it from German referee Felix Zwayer.
With the match seemingly heading for extra-time, Ollie Watkins came off the bench to score in the final minute of normal time – sending England through to Sunday’s final, where they will face in-form Spain.
Footage has since circulated on social media of the ITV studio’s reaction to Watkins’ late goal, and it makes for hilarious viewing.

In the clip, Gary Neville and Ian Wright can be seen nervously watching a TV screen.
Keane then prophetically says: “There’s a goal coming here. That little touch…”
Neville and Wright then jump up in unison with the former Manchester United man screaming: “Oh my god. F***ing hell! Wow.”
“What a substitution,” adds Wright.
The camera then pans to Keane, who has stood motionless throughout his fellow pundits’ celebrations, before he calmly says: “Offside?”
Keane then adds: “[Declan] Rice got lucky there.”
Fans were quick to comment on former Republic of Ireland international Keane’s lack of reaction to England’s winner.
“Roy being casual as ever. Legend,” wrote one fan on X.
“Keane knew the goal was coming with the touch… vision at its finest,” added another.
While a third joked: “Keane’s fuming.”
England will now prepare to face Spain, who beat France in their semi-final to reach Sunday’s showpiece event in Berlin.
The Three Lions have the chance to win their first major trophy since the 1966 World Cup, having lost out on penalties to Italy in the previous Euros final at Wembley.
“I’d never seen that before and never did again!” – England teammate tells incredible story about Paul Scholes (an)

Scholes played 66 times for England.
Former England player Kieron Dyer has revealed what Paul Scholes did to receive a standing ovation in training.
Manchester United legend Scholes is regarded as one of the greatest midfielders in history, winning 11 Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues.
It’s widely believed several England managers failed to get the best out of Scholes at international level.
He made 66 appearances for his country but retired in 2004, citing his family and United career as the reason.
Those seven years in a Three Lions shirt are still filled with brilliant stories.
Dyer was capped 33 times for his country and was part of the squad with Scholes on several occasions.
He believes Scholes was a better player than contemporaries Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, calling the decision to shift him to the left wing ‘disrespectful’.
Dyer said in his 2018 book ‘Old Too Soon, Smart Too Late: My Story’ as serialised in the Daily Mail: “Paul Scholes was the best player I played with and people like Xavi and Zinedine Zidane counted him as their favourite player.

“Other nations would have used him as their fulcrum but Sven Goran Eriksson’s first-choice midfield was always David Beckham on the right, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in the centre and Scholes on the left.
“So we wasted him by putting him on the left and banished him to the margins. It was disrespectful, one of the biggest crimes ever.”
The former Newcastle man then recalled when Scholes was absolutely unplayable in a training game. It saw the diminutive maestro receive applause from the entire squad as he walked off the pitch.

Dyer continued: “When you talk about Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes, Scholes was the best of the three and yet he was asked to give way. He was the absolute master of one touch in training.

“One day he scored three or four goals – and I’m not talking tap-ins. I’m talking 25-yarders-lodging-in-the-stanchion-type goals.
“When the session was over, the rest of the England players formed a guard of honour and clapped him off the pitch. I’d never seen that before and I never saw it again.”

Anthony Gordon couldn’t hide his emotions
England have booked their place in the semi-final of Euro 2024 but Anthony Gordon has gone viral on social media.
The Three Lions will face either the Netherlands or Turkey in the semi-final after beating Switzerland on penalties.
Breel Embolo opened the scoring for the Swiss after 75 minutes but Bukayo Saka hit back five minutes later with a stunning long-range effort to keep England in it.

Gareth Southgate’s men needed penalties to progress with all five players stepping up to find the back of the net to go through after Manuel Akanji’s spot-kick was saved by Jordan Pickford.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s winning penalty sparked mass celebration from the England camp but the reaction of Gordon during extra-time caught the eye of England supporters.
The Newcastle winger has played just one minute of football plus stoppage time at Euro 2024 despite a stellar club campaign with the Magpies.

With England needing a goal, Gordon was overlooked from the bench yet again against Switzerland and his reaction during Southgate’s team-talk in extra-time was a cause for concern.
The 23-year-old was pictured looking glum as the England manager dissed out instructions and was later seen stood far away from the main group.

Alan Shearer has led calls for Gordon to be given the chance to impress for his country and the ex-Everton man is confident he still has a role to play in the tournament.

“My main strengths are I am very direct, I’m obviously quick,” he said earlier in the tournament. “I know I am a nightmare for anyone that I play against.
“I’m positive. Every time I get the ball, I always try to make something happen. I’m not a very safe player, I am always going for it. I am always trying to put people on the back foot.
“With players we have got – the likes of H [Harry Kane], who likes to drop deep – I think I add a different element to the team.”
