The Princess Royal made the revelation during her first public engagement after the accident

Princess Anne is speaking out about her health for the first time since she sustained a concussion and minor injuries in a horse-related incident at her country home.
On July 12, the Princess Royal, 73, marked her return to royal duties, making her first public appearance since she was hospitalized last month.
During her visit to the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Championships at Hartpury University and Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, Anne shared that she “can’t remember a single thing” about the incident, which is believed to have been caused by an impact from a horse’s head or legs.
Helena Vega Lozano, chair of RDA UK, shared that as soon as Anne exited the car, she stated, “I can’t remember a single thing about it,” reported the Daily Mail.

Despite her recent health setback, King Charles’ sister appeared to be in her element in the equestrian setting, where she joined RDA supporters in the arena, presented awards and met winners.
The three-day RDA National Championship is the largest equestrian event of its kind for disabled competitors, and the organization has long been close to Princess Anne’s heart. She became patron in November 1971 and has been its president since March 1986, stepping out to support the organization’s flagship festivities in a gradual return to royal duties on July 12.

Princess Anne’s comment comes after she was discharged from the hospital following a five-day stay after the accident that happened on June 23. PEOPLE confirmed that King Charles’ sister was receiving rehabilitation support at her Gatcombe Park home in Gloucestershire after leaving Southmead Hospital in Bristol on June 28.
It was understood that the royal would remain at her country home for a period of rest and return to royal duty when her medical team determined it was safe to do so. On June 25, The Telegraph reported that Anne was suffering memory loss, thought to be temporary, relating to the incident.
When Princess Anne left the hospital, her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, issued a short statement voicing his gratitude to her care team there.
“I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise and kindness during my wife’s short stay,” said Sir Tim, who married Anne in 1992.

Sir Tim, 69, gave a brief update to reporters about his wife’s health after visiting his wife at the hospital on June 26, saying that she was “recovering slowly” and that she would be “out when she’s ready.”
On June 24, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles’ sister sustained a concussion and minor injuries in an “incident” at Gatcombe Park the day prior.
“The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery,” they said in a statement.
“The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery,” they continued.

Because of the concussion that Princess Anne sustained, the exact details of the accident are unable to be ascertained. However, her injuries are consistent with a potential impact from a horse’s head or legs. The Princess Royal is a lifelong equestrian who competed for Team Great Britain at the Olympics in 1976, and made history as the first member of the British royal family to participate in the Olympics. She rode in the Trooping the Colour parade on June 15, and kept her cool when her horse began acting rambunctious on the streets of London.
The Princess Royal, who is consistently cited as the “hardest-working royal” by count of official engagements recorded in the Court Circular, was forced to clear her calendar after being injured. A palace spokesperson confirmed she would not be at the Buckingham Palace banquet King Charles threw on June 25 in honor of the Japanese state visit, and her trip to Canada later that week was also canceled on medical advice.

Queen Elizabeth’s resilient daughter shared her first statement since her hospitalization in a message shared by the Canadian Governor General on July 1. The statement came during a memorial ceremony marking the centenary of the Newfoundland National War Memorial that Princess Anne was scheduled to attend before her accident.
“It is with deep regret that I am unable to be with you today, as you commemorate the brave efforts and sacrifices of the members of the Newfoundland Regiment who went into battle on the first day of the Somme,” Princess Anne said in a statement.
“I have fond memories of joining you in 2016, on the 99th occasion that the people of this Island commemorated the Battle of Beaumont Hamel, and I am deeply saddened that I’m unable to join you again, and I send you my warmest best wishes on this special day of commemoration,” she added.

Last year, The Telegraph proclaimed Princess Anne as the hardest-working member of the royal family as she attended the most engagements (457!) recorded in the Court Circular. In a wide-ranging interview with Sky News Australia’s The Royal Report in March, Peter Phillips spoke about how he is inspired by his parents’ drive. Princess Anne shares her son Peter and daughter Zara Tindall with her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips. The former couple divorced in 1992.
“Both our parents have been hugely influential to Zara and myself, and I think primarily it’s through their work ethic,” Peter explained earlier this year.
“Both of them are incredibly hardworking and, both in their 70s, they’re still working a lot harder than either of them probably expected. But then as my mother always said, from that perspective, they had pretty good role models from my grandparents who were still working in their 90s,” he continued, referring to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. “Everyone has a huge amount to live up to, and ultimately they all live by example.”

Queen Elizabeth’s heartbreaking eight-word response to Prince Harry’s decision to quit
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in 2020, a decision which rocked the Firm and prompted a heartbreaking response from the late Queen.
Prince Harry leaves Balmoral after death of Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth was reportedly left “very hurt” and “exhausted” by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit as working members of the Royal Family, it’s been claimed.
Her feelings were summed up with a simple yet devastating eight-word response as she told a royal insider: “I don’t want to think about it anymore.”
In the forthcoming book ‘The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown’, a source close to the Firm gave an insight into the late Queen’s “turmoil” over events at the time.
An extract of the book was published in Vanity Fair, in which the insider said: ” She was very hurt and told me, ‘I don’t know, I don’t care, and I don’t want to think about it anymore’.”
The book was written by royal expert and correspondent Katie Nicholl, who also claimed that the late Queen was upset that she did not get to spend more time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Ms Nicholl wrote of Her Late Majesty’s disappointment that Harry and Meghan did not bring their children to Balmoral in August for a sleepover.
The author noted: “It was a source of sadness to the Queen that she got to see so little of Archie and Lilibet and that Harry and Meghan were not able to join her for a weekend at Balmoral in August when the Queen used to host a ‘sleepover’ for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”
The Queen only met Lilibet once, when the Sussexes travelled over to the UK in June 2022 for the Platinum Jubilee, with her passing away at Balmoral just three months later.

King Charles is now said to be keen to patch things up with Harry and Meghan, especially so that he can build a relationship with his youngest grandchildren.
A source close to the royals told The Independent: “He is hurt and disappointed but he has always said his love for Harry is unconditional.”
Harry flew over to the UK for just one day to see his father back in February when he learned that Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, sparking hopes that a reconciliation could be on the cards.
However, when Harry last travelled to the UK in May for the Invictus Games 10th-anniversary service in London, he did not manage to see any of his family on the royal side.
There was a clash of schedules, with King Charles and other senior royals attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace on the same day.
But it later emerged that Hary had been invited to stay at a royal residence, but turned it down in favour of a hotel due to apparent security concerns.
The royal family has always been a magnet for fascination, drama, and scandal, but the latest twist in the ongoing saga involving Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, threatens to ignite one of the most explosive legal battles in recent memory.
According to unconfirmed reports, media mogul Oprah Winfrey has allegedly sent a strongly worded legal letter to Meghan, demanding substantial compensation for what she claims were damaging lies and fabrications made by the Duchess during their groundbreaking interview last year.
At the heart of Oprah’s grievance is Meghan’s assertion that a member of the royal family had expressed concerns about the potential skin color of Meghan and Prince Harry’s then-unborn son, Archie. This incendiary allegation, which sent shockwaves through the monarchy, is now under scrutiny, with Oprah reportedly believing it to be demonstrably false.
As one of the world’s most respected and trusted interviewers, Oprah takes immense pride in her reputation for delivering honest, hard-hitting journalism. The suggestion that she may have been complicit in or misled by Meghan’s purported falsehoods is something she is reportedly unwilling to accept.
Reports indicate that Oprah is seeking millions of dollars in damages from Meghan and insists that the Duchess publicly apologize and retract her controversial comments from the interview. Failure to comply could lead to a highly publicized and potentially career-damaging lawsuit, further tarnishing Meghan’s credibility in the eyes of the public.
The stakes are extraordinarily high for both women involved. Oprah, who has built an unrivaled media empire and brand on her ability to connect with audiences and unearth revelatory interviews, faces the risk of immense reputational damage if it’s proven she was misled. For Meghan, a loss in this legal battle could mark a pivotal moment, potentially derailing her aspirations for a sustained career in entertainment and advocacy.
This clash epitomizes a battle between two formidable figures, each wielding immense wealth, power, and influence. The outcome of this legal showdown could have seismic repercussions not only for Oprah and Meghan but also for the entire narrative surrounding the royal family.
The seeds of this potential legal showdown were sown in March 2021 when Meghan and Prince Harry sat down with Oprah for a bombshell televised interview. During the interview, the couple made a series of damning allegations about their time as working members of the royal family, including accusations of racism, mental health struggles, and lack of support from the institution.
Perhaps the most explosive claim was Meghan’s revelation that there were discussions within the royal household about Archie’s skin color before his birth. This revelation ignited a firestorm in the media, with widespread condemnation of the alleged remarks as racially insensitive
The interview garnered record-breaking viewership globally, thrusting Oprah into the spotlight as the conduit through which Meghan’s accusations were broadcast to the world. Now, over a year later, it appears Oprah may be reconsidering her decision to amplify these specific claims, questioning their veracity or accuracy.
For Oprah, the stakes in this potential legal battle extend beyond financial compensation. As one of the foremost interviewers of our time, her entire brand and legacy hinge on her ability to extract truthful, authentic responses from her subjects. The suggestion that she may have been unwittingly complicit in spreading falsehoods challenges her reputation as a fair, impartial, and truth-seeking journalist.
On the other hand, Meghan has endured relentless public scrutiny and criticism throughout her tenure in the royal spotlight. Another high-profile legal setback could potentially signal the end of her ambitions for continued relevance and influence on the global stage.
This clash represents a showdown between two influential women who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve extraordinary success in their respective fields. Now, they find themselves on opposite sides of a potentially explosive legal battle that could reshape perceptions of the royal family for years to come.
While the outcome remains uncertain, one thing is clear: the world will be watching closely as this drama unfolds. With the reputations and legacies of two powerhouse women hanging in the balance, the fallout from this legal showdown is bound to be monumental. Its repercussions are likely to reverberate not just within the royal family but across the entire media landscape.
This high-stakes confrontation offers no shortage of intrigue, scandal, and potential for unexpected twists. Ultimately, the question remains: who will emerge victorious in this clash of titans? The answer could profoundly influence the future trajectories of two of the most influential women in the world.
