The Sussexes are believed to be funding their new life in California via a range of media deals and Harry’s autobiography.

King Charles is said to be worrying “what is going to happen when all the money runs out” for his son Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle.
The Sussexes stepped down from Royal Family duties in 2020 and have since been funding a new life in Montecito, California through various projects they are involved in.
It’s believed the pair have turned to a number of big media deals – such as money raised through their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, Netflix deal and Harry’s controversial autobiography Spare – in order to pay for their new lifestyle.
But according to a new biography written by veteran royal writer Robert Jobson, titled Catherine The Princess of Wales, Prince Harry’s father is now fretting about their finances.
Harry told Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that the media deals were not part of their plan but were necessary to provide his family with financial security after his father “literally cut me off financially.”

Mr Jobson wrote in an extract recently published by the Daily Mail: “The Sussex-shaped void in the Royal Family has never loomed so large, yet there is no question of them stepping in to help. [Prince] William remains adamant about that,”
“As for King Charles, he’s let it be known that he’ll never shut the door on his second child, though there seems little chance of a meaningful reconciliation for now.”
Harry and Meghan’s “biggest paydays” could now be behind them with their Spotify deal brought to an end prematurely in 2023, writes Jobson.
The royal author believes the couple are “trying to find an income stream (jam, anyone?) that doesn’t involve dishing dirt on the Royal Family” after the public have grown weary of their whinging.
Mr Jobson added: “The ‘Harry problem’, as it’s known among Palace staff, continues to plague the King.
“‘What worries His Majesty, and his top team,’ says a Palace official, ‘is what is going to happen when all the money runs out.’”
In another revelation from the book, King Charles allegedly left Prince Harry “furious” after suggesting there wasn’t enough money to fund Meghan Markle’s role as a working royal.
The book claims, however, that despite these concerns, sources close to the Royal Family revealed that Charles did provide Harry with a “substantial sum” and did not cut him off financially.
Funding for William and Harry came from the profits of the Duchy of Cornwall, a property portfolio meant to support the Prince of Wales. In 2020, the duchy provided a shared pot of £4.7million for the two couples.
Upon Charles becoming King, the duchy passed to Prince William, who now benefits from its full annual sum, which was nearly £23 million in the 2023-24 tax year, according to Newsweek.
Will Bayley heartbreakingly reveals that his dance partner, Janette Manrara, caused him “serious and lifelong injuries” during a Strictly Come Dancing performance, with the BBC refusing to take responsibility.

Strictly Come Dancing star Will Bayley has revealed he suffered an ‘excruciating’ and ‘lifelong’ injury while performing a jump on the BBC’s flagship show and claimed there was ‘no duty of care’
The BBC has spoken out after Janette Manara became the latest Strictly Come Dancing star to be called out by a former dance partner.
Will Bayley has said he suffered a serious and lifelong injury while performing a jump on the BBC’s flagship show when he was partnered with the It Takes Two host and has claimed there was “no duty of care”.
Responding to his comment, a BBC spokesperson said: “We have longstanding protocols for dealing with injuries if they occur and that includes contestants receiving all necessary treatment and support as required.”
Paralympian Will has said producers were told the jump from a table during a routine was too dangerous, but he was encouraged to do it anyway and after he was injured show bosses made him feel like it was his fault.

Amanda has described professional Giovanni Pernice’s behaviour as “unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean”. He denies the claims.
Meanwhile, Graziano Di Prima has left the show over allegations about his treatment of Love Island star McDermott. In a heartbreaking admission, the Sicilian admitted he kicked the reality star, but did not spit at her.
Speaking out about his experience on Strictly, Will said: “Now feels like the right time to speak up. I hope what I went through never happens to anyone else. I think the show thought they were being inclusive by casting me, but I actually felt pressured.
“I have got a serious disability and I don’t think anyone was really looking out for me when I injured myself, leaving me with injuries that still affect me to this day. No one has ever contacted me from the BBC or said sorry.”
In yet more controversy surrounding the show, it was reported on Friday that former dance partner Laila Rouass has consulted with her lawyers about a comment made in 2009 by show judge, Anton Du Beke, despite having previously reportedly accepted his apology.
The BBC has now announced there will be chaperones in the training rooms going into the news series. There will also be two producers focused on welfare: one for the celebrities and a second for the professional dancers.
Speaking about the future of the show, Kate Phillips, the BBC’s director of unscripted, said: “Whilst we know our shows have been positive experiences for the vast majority of those who have taken part, if issues are raised with us, or we’re made aware of inappropriate behaviour, we will always take that seriously and act. Concerns that have arisen have been fundamentally related to training and rehearsals. The decisive steps we have taken and are announced today, act to further strengthen the welfare and support in place for everyone involved.”

Loose Women declare there is a liar in the “Strictly Come Dancing” scandal. Kaye Adams, Judi Love, Penny Lancaster, and Sunetra Sarker continuously discuss and point out the inconsistencies
Loose Women stars who have competed on Strictly Come Dancing have waded into the drama surrounding the show.
The BBC dance competition has been hit with controversy in recent months. Actress Amanda Abbington raised concerns about her experience on the show as she claimed she was diagnosed with mild PTSD. She was partnered with Giovanni Pernice, who has since stepped away from the show.
An investigation was launched by the BBC and this month dancer Graziano Di Prima was dismissed following allegations of behaviour to Zara McDermott. Loose Women stars Kaye Adams, Judi Love, Penny Lancaster and Sunetra Sarker have now shared their thoughts.
The Loose Women stars gave their verdict on the Strictly scandal ( Image: ITV) On Thursday’s show, the panel discussed Amanda’s live interview on Lorraine where she detailed her experience. Sunetra said: “We have all been on there and so we know the good and the bad. Everyone has had individual moments which won’t have been what we wanted them to be. But I don’t want to focus on that, the point here is that firstly, Amanda has found the courage to speak up about inappropriate behaviour and she didn’t find anywhere outside of this route to voice any concern that ‘I don’t feel safe here, I don’t really enjoy this’.
“I think it is down to management to take accountability for media spills. When you are in a difficult pairing, people don’t know where to turn because everybody else has got these amazing pairings. It highlights it event more if there isn’t a space where she can say I am feeling vulnerable. Also for the pros, to say you have paired me with a stranger that is not actually behaving appropriate with me. It has to work both ways.”
Host Kaye added: “You can understand why the audience don’t want it to be true. People feel very very warmly towards it, but it is a workplace and people need to know that behaviours are going to be appropriate.” Judi then shared: “It is all very sad and it makes you think about how complaints are handled, especially when women speak up about their experiences that have been bad.
Amanda gave an emotional interview on Lorraine ( Image: ITV) “Everybody has different experiences on Strictly and it doesn’t mean if your experience was good, then another’s is bad, it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be listened to. Their voice is just as important to make this place of work even more productive.”

Penny added: “There needs to be some kind of due care of attention. It is very reminiscent of MeToo. It shouldn’t have to be that way anymore. When I was on Strictly I had a fantastically positive experience but I remember a tripod in rehearsal all the time, I never felt alone. There was always a presence of the video, you didn’t feel aware of but it was always there.
“Just like policing, there is a camera on our arm for not just to protect the officers but also protect the suspects, witnesses. Camera evidence is the most crucial thing and having a place to go to speak with trust.”
