Despite being widely regarded as one of the best players in women’s basketball for years, Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky has still yet to win over the hearts of her biggest critics.
Winning a national championship in college and averaging a double-double in her rookie season should be enough to shut down the haters, but there are still people doubting her.
Internet personality Jason Whitlock recently labeled Angel Reese as “arguably the most overrated athlete in all of sports.” He also added that she is “as unskilled as any player in the WNBA,” which is a knock on all of the phenomenal athletes in the league.
Furthermore, Whitlock called her “awkward” and “incredibly unathletic.”
“She is awkward. … Her lower body seems to be disconnected from her upper body. She’s incredibly unathletic. She has no skill, no postgame. I’m sure Candace Parker watches her and laughs.” said Whitlock.
Reese dominated college basketball for years and is now adjusting to a new, higher-level league. Even so, she’s still managing to be a monster on the glass. Her biggest knock is her lack of efficiency, but she’ll improve with time. As a rookie who was just in college a few months ago, she can’t be expected to be perfect right away.
