Caitlin Clark race debate rolls on as Charlamagne tha God claims she is only popular because she’s WHITE-as he backs her WNBA rival A ja Wilson.
Caitlin Clark has been at the forefront of shooting the WNBA into unprecedented popularity. And popular radio host Charlamagne tha God said he believes the reason the indiana Fever star has become incredibly popular is primarily because she’s white.
Charlamagne tha God gave his remarks during an interview with late night host Bill Maher, as Charlamagne compared Clark’s booming celebrity status to that of Las Vegas Aces star Aja Wilson
Wilson was just as dominant as Clark during her college career. Wilson was so influential for South Carolina Colonial Life Arena in Columbia has erected a statue outside its doors in her honor. Clark should have a statue of her own built in lowa City one day, but it only states how transcendent Wilson was especially playing for Dawn Staley amid the dominance of the Gamecocks over the last several years
Wilson has continued to be one of basketball’s best as a two-time WNBA MVP. She did not receive an eighth of the attention Clark has. Maher and Charlamagne questioned if had to with Clark’s race.

Aja Wilson was the biggest thing when she came out of South Carolina and she didn’t get all of that. Charlamagne said.
So what do you attribute that to? I mean, you’re saying that’s racism?” Maher questioned.
No I’m not saying it’s racist. I’m just saying that I think A’ja Wilson has a point, and I think sometimes when, you know, black women say certain things, we should listen, especially her because I’m not in her shoes, Charlamagne responded.
But why was Serena Williams such a big star? Because people like that. They didn’t not watch her because she was black, right? Maher added.
Williams was tennis’ biggest star and best player for more than a decade, who was black in a white-dominated sport.
The inverse is true for Clark, with a majority of the WNBA being black women.
Williams herself recently commented to TIME on Clark’s rise to fame, seemingly agreeing with Maher.
If people are negative it’s because they can’t do what you do, Williams said

Caitlin Clark Is Exposing Her WNBA Bullies
Caitlin Clark’s rise in the WNBA has not only sparked jealousy and criticism from peers but has also transformed the league with her impressive performance and growing popularity. Her journey, marked by both challenges and triumphs, highlights her resilience and impact on the sport.
Caitlin Clark’s arrival in the WNBA has led to exponential growth in viewership and ticket sales, revolutionizing the league’s popularity and profitability in a short period. Her influence has been compared to Michael Jordan’s impact on the NBA, underscoring how she has elevated the women’s game and the marketability of the WNBA. Statistical evidence showcases the significant growth in viewership and ticket sales directly attributed to Clark’s presence in the league.
However, not all reactions to her success have been positive. Lynette Woodard, a renowned basketball player, felt slighted when Caitlin broke her scoring record. Instead of discrediting Clark, Woodard should have seen it as an opportunity to be recognized for her contributions to the game. Comparing Woodard’s impressive career and scoring record to Clark’s era highlights the evolution of women’s basketball over time.
Cheryl Swoopes also falsely discredited Caitlin for breaking a scoring record, claiming she played more games. However, data proves otherwise, showing that Clark played fewer games and didn’t shoot as much as claimed. This discrepancy emphasizes the importance of accurate data and fact-checking in sports commentary. The actual stats revealed that Clark surpassed Swoopes’ record by playing fewer games and taking fewer shots, highlighting the significance of accurate data in sports analysis.
Women’s basketball has gained popularity thanks to individual players like Caitlin and the efforts of many others, sparking discussions and attracting celebrities to games. Clark’s impact on the sport is evident, as she embraces the ‘bad guy’ role for the sport’s growth. Reactions and jealousy towards her success from players like Lexi Brown and the offer she received from Ice Cube for The Big Three further illustrate the competitive nature of the league.
Despite facing hate and jealousy in the WNBA for a lucrative offer she received, Clark continues to prove her skills and stats, putting her on track to become Rookie of the Year. She uses the negativity as motivation, showcasing her resilience and determination. Her exclusion from the USA team for the Olympics, despite her skills, has only fueled her drive to prove her doubters wrong with impressive stats and performance in the WNBA.
Caitlin Clark’s journey in the WNBA is a testament to her talent, resilience, and impact on the sport. As she continues to navigate challenges and criticism, her success story inspires fans and highlights the evolving landscape of women’s basketball.
Social Μedia Is Destʀoying Angel Reese For Diꜱrespecting Opponeɴt By “Stat Paddinɢ” During Final Seconᴅs Οf Chicᴀgo’s Win Tᴏ Secure Her Dᴏuble-Double

Social media is ripping on Chicago Sky star rookie Angel Reese for padding her stats in the waning seconds of Wednesday’s victory over the Atlanta Dream.
Angel Reese extended her WNBA record of consecutive games with a double-double to 14, finishing with 11 points and 13 rebounds. She led the Sky to a 78-69 victory that improved their record to 9-12.
When a basketball game is essentially out of reach, teams usually just dribble out the clock until the final buzzer. The Dream were seemingly content doing this, trailing 76-69 in the waning seconds.
But Reese, who was at nine points, decided to try and keep the streak going. She drew a foul that sent her to the free-throw line, and Reese made both of them to extend her special streak:
One can understand Reese’s wish to keep the streak going, but countless fans on X/Twitter weren’t happy with the so-called “stat padding.” Here are some of the rather cold reactions to Reese’s move:
It’s safe to say that Angel Reese isn’t at all worried about the criticism she has received over the last 24 hours. Remember, she said she was fine taking the “bad guy role” when talking about Caitlin Clark just last month:
The Sky selected Reese seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The LSU legend and 2023 national champion has certainly lived up to expectations in the early going, with averages of 14.1 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
Angel Reese & Chicago Sky Are On A Roll
The playoffs felt like a longshot for Chicago after they lost nine of their first 13 games, but they’ve turned a corner over the last three weeks.
Chicago has now won five of their last eight games, and three of their last four overall. Now just three games below .500, the Sky hold the seventh seed and are just 2.5 behind the Phoenix Mercury for the No. 6 seed.
